Our Estate Signature and Weekend Wedding package includes access for a three-day period—from Friday at noon to Sunday at noon (48 hours). This allows time for setup and a rehearsal, the wedding day, and cleanup the following day. We also offer micro wedding and elopement packages.

Kateri is a venue rental space, providing the property for client use without additional services. Clients are responsible for hiring their own vendors for setup, decoration, catering, officiating, coordination, and cleanup. Kateri does not provide on-site personnel to assist with the event. Due to Augusta County requirements a representative for Kateri will be on property during the event.

The exclusive use of Kateri in our Estate Signature and Weekend Wedding packages includes full access to the venue for three days—from Friday at 12 PM through Sunday at 12 PM. These packages offer private use of the entire property, including the Guest & Master Wing with the ‘Something Blue Bridal Room’ and accommodations for 8 guests (Estate Signature Package =1 night; Weekend Wedding Package =2 nights). You'll also have the opportunity to use the venue for engagement or wedding portraits (photographer not included). The package includes natural wood folding chairs with cushions and round tables (60") appropriate for a party of 150, standing patio heaters(propane not included), polywood rocking chairs, white wicker resin patio furniture, navy blue market umbrellas, and poolside loungers. Guests can enjoy the cozy ambiance of gas fireplaces in the open-sided pool gazebo, family room, kitchen, double-sided in the living and dining rooms, and the master bedroom suite—plus many other charming amenities that make Kateri a truly unforgettable place to celebrate.

For our larger events, our clients typically choose to clean up the day after the wedding, with all cleaning to be completed by 12:00 PM Sunday. The client and their vendors are responsible for removing all belongings, decorations, and trash. For an additional fee of $1500, Kateri can provide clean-up services if arranged in advance through the contract.

Yes, you can serve alcohol at Kateri, but an ABC license is required. Your caterer may already have this license, but proof must be provided before your event. If needed, apply for the license at least 30 days in advance at https://www.abc.virginia.gov/. Anyone serving alcohol must be a licensed and insured vendor. Family and friends are not permitted to serve alcohol. Please consult your caterer for assistance.

A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is DUE UPON RECEIPT of the signed Rental Agreement. This deposit secures the event date and will be applied as the Damage Deposit. If the event is canceled, this amount will be forfeited. The damage deposit will be refunded within 10 days after the event, provided there is no physical damage to the property and no excessive cleaning is required. If damages exceed the security deposit, the Client is responsible for reimbursing Kateri within 30 days of receiving a written demand. After securing the event date and making down payment, the remaining balance is divided into two payments, one at the Midmark between date of agreement and event date, and the final payment must be paid in full 60 days before the scheduled event. The decision to return the damage deposit is at the sole discretion of Kateri.

We accept cash, checks, debit, and credit cards. Payments made with a debit or credit card will incur a 3% processing fee. Additionally, a 5.3% sales tax will be applied to all event sales. Packages with overnight accommodations are subject to a 6% Augusta County Occupancy Tax.

No, decorating and setup services are not included in the venue rental. You will need to arrange these services separately.

Kateri can accommodate up to 200 guests. In addition to the main house, the expansive decks and grounds provide ample space for social gatherings and outdoor festivities. For events on the side lawn, we suggest additional restroom facilities in close proximity. Rental trailers are available in the local market.

Kateri is open year-round. The most popular wedding months are during the more temperate seasons, as the swimming pool is open from May through October. From November to April, we welcome indoor and tented events. We’d also love to host your holiday party, corporate picnic, or family gathering!

Unfortunately, we cannot hold dates. Our policy operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The date is reserved for the first couple who signs a contract and submits the event deposit and damage deposit.

Kateri offers a beautiful home with an expansive open-concept living and dining area, as well as stunning outdoor spaces with breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains for your celebration. However, we do not provide tents unless included in a pre-arranged package. Clients are responsible for making any special arrangements in case of inclement weather.

Tables and chairs for a party of 150 are included. Additional chairs, as well as upgrades for chairs and tables, are available as add-ons.

Yes, Kateri offers a designated space for the bridal party to get ready. The Estate Signature and Wedding Weekend Packages include access to the Guest & Master Wing, featuring the spacious Something Blue Bridal Room.

No, Kateri provides insurance coverage for our clients. All vendors must be licensed and insured.

No, we do not have contracts with specific vendors, but we are happy to provide recommendations. You are free to hire any vendor of your choice; however, they must carry liability insurance and provide proof of insurance to Kateri. Anyone serving food or alcohol on the premises must be licensed and insured—volunteers are not permitted to serve food or alcohol due to liability reasons.

Yes, the venue includes a kitchen for final food preparations. However, this is not a production kitchen for cooking. It serves as a staging and prep area, allowing for warming and serving pre-cooked food. Cooking is not permitted at the venue. You may opt to use up to two food trucks for your catering needs.

Yes, Kateri has a curfew of 10:00 PM out of respect for our neighbors. However, we offer overnight accommodations for 8 guests in our Estate Signature and Weekend Wedding Packages.

Yes, Kateri is equipped with both heating and air conditioning to ensure comfort year-round. Heating devices for outdoor spaces are also available for use (propane tank not included).

Absolutely! Dogs are welcome at the venue. We kindly ask that you ensure proper cleanup of messes. Pets may not stay overnight. Please note that several outdoor cats reside on the property.
